Becoming A Coach: How I Did It

Thanks to coaching, my life will never be the same. My coach took me from being burnt out to living a rich and fulfilling life. I’m so grateful, and to pay it forward, I decided to become a coach myself. I am going to share that journey with you, and I hope that you take something helpful from it.

For starters, I google searched coach training programs to see which would be the best fit. I discovered programs like Coach U, The Coaches Training Institute, and Coachville. In the end, I chose Coach U because it had an excellent curriculum, and I could complete the program virtually, which fit perfectly with my schedule. I continued to work, and I did my teleseminar classes at night. Since then, I did additional coach training with Dave Ramsey and Kendall Summerhawk.

Since graduating from these programs, I have learned of many other amazing coach training programs, such as Way Finder Life Coach Training by Martha Beck, Brene Brown’s coach training, Tony Robbins’ coach training, and Byron Katie’s coach training. By listening to podcasts, I found out about The Life Coach School with Brooke Castillo. It’s an excellent program that teaches entrepreneurship and how to make your life coach business lucrative.

I appreciate programs that teach about how to be successful as a coach because coach training is the easy part, but getting clients and building a coach business is where the real work comes in. Coaching is not a regulated industry…. anyone can decide to become a coach. However, success with getting and keeping clients is unlikely if you don’t know what you are doing.

Take it from me: being a successful coach comes with a lot of work! Aside from the training courses, I have worked with several business coaches to help me with my entrepreneurial skills, and I’m so glad that I did. It has made a huge difference in my career as a coach, and as an entrepreneur all together. It’s so important to learn from others who have excelled in the field you want to be in. Like I always say, if you want to get there faster, hire a coach. Whether it is for finances, business, or life in general, it is so worth it (I promise I’m not saying that just because I’m a coach)!

I hope that sharing my coaching journey was helpful for you, and with that being said, I will leave you on this note: as always, self experimentation is the key to opening new doors of possibility in your life. Start exploring and you might be pleasantly surprised!
